New Year...New Sickness

Carter rang in the New Year with us last night on the couch while running a 103 fever and puking. Poor little guy needs to get well! This sickness started on Sunday on our way to Delaware. His checks were bright red and wouldn't go away the entire time we were on the road. He then broke out with a rash from head to toe on Monday. On Tuesday, he started running a fever anywhere from 100 to 104. His rash would flair up every time his fever spiked and this lasted until Thursday. Carter's fever was still high this morning so we made a trip to the ER prompt care where our suspensions were confirmed...Fifth Disease. Who knows where he contracted it?!? Luckily, he doesn't have an ear infection or any mucus in his chest/lungs. We will keep pushing the Motrin and hopefully in 48 hours his fever will go down. If not, we will be heading back to the ER to get it checked out again and make sure it isn't anything else. Pray for our little guy!

Disney on Ice

Jason and I took the little man to Disney on Ice. I am glad they were free tickets because we only lasted about 10 minutes after intermission before someone wanted to go for a walk. Carter actually enjoyed the show before the intermission but once we took a walk around Conseco Fieldhouse that is all he wanted to do. I tried to go back in and sit down for more of the show but he wasn't going to have it and was ready to go. It was also and hour and half past his bedtime. Anyway, Jason and I had a good time singing along to our favorite Disney songs.
We were also thankful no one was sitting directly below us because Carter launched a MatchBox car and his monkey stuffed animal. I went and rescued the monkey but the car has a new home at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Here are a few pictures!

Carter is doing much better! He had a runny nose, cough, and ear infection this past week but is on the road to recovery with the help of some Amoxicillin. I can't wait for the winter season to already be over! I miss the Florida warmth especially with a little one that wants to go on a walk everyday!

Carter is on the verge of talking all of the time. He still rambles every once in a while but is starting to use three -four word phrases/questions. Here's some of the fun facts about the boy.
1. Loves to play with his cars and trains. I mean LOVES them! He's getting a train table for Christmas and I can't wait to see his reaction.
2. Loves to help me out in the kitchen cooking.
3. Can follow two step directions without any trouble. This boy really understands so much; it's just amazing.
4. Has an amazing memory- remembers exactly where every toys is when I ask him to get them.
5. Loves suckers- He will take his finger and swipe it on his tongue and say "Yum, yum" when he wants one. (Don't worry he doesn't get them that often).
6. Responds very well when we have to use a time out. He sits in time out with his head down until I tell him it is time to talk about why he was there- sometimes I have to walk away and giggle because he is just the cutest thing in the world when he has the "I disappointed you look on his face."
7. Loves to walk through the stores with me right next to the shopping cart- it's cute- and he thinks he is big time when he gets to do this.
8. Is drinking out of a big kid cup without any troubles
9. Has a best friend- his monkey stuff animal- he goes every where with him.
10. Still is a very little guy- weighs almost 23 pounds at 23 months of age. Can still wear size 18 month shirts and pants- although the pants are getting a little too short.

Prayers for the little man...

Sunday morning started a little earlier than we anticipated with a visit to the ER because Carter's temperature was 104 and wouldn't budge with Tylenol and Motrin. It was scary to feel my little guy's body on fire; his poor little toes were even on fire!
We will probably have a few more days of this because he's contracted the H1N1 virus.

Fun in the Sun

Start at the bottom and work your way up! Enjoy!

This past weekend we took our annual vacation to the condo in Anna Maria. We love visiting that condo! It feels like our second home!
The weather was perfect...high in the 80's and not a cloud in the sky every single day we were there!
Carter was in love with the beach and not afraid of the ocean at all. We built many sand castles (or just watched Carter destroyed the ones Jason and I built), took lots of long walks on the beach, ate fabulous food, visited our dear friends that we lived next to for two years, went to a Lighting's hockey game, and Jason even went scuba diving. Here are some pictures of our wonderful vacation!

Nothing better than a day playing with the dogs!
